A hybrid system is when your solar panels remain connected to the grid’s power cables and have a backup battery system to store extra energy. The sun’s energy absorbed by the solar panels goes through an inverter to convert it into useful electricity. From there, electricity either travels to your home, to your batteries, or to the grid. You will always have power with a hybrid solar system, which is an advantage. The extra energy that your solar panels produce but that your home does not utilize will be saved in the backup battery. Then, when the sun is not shining, you will have power from this battery during the night, power outages, or bad weather.
